The greatest question that has been asked through-out the ages is "Who Am I".
When you sitting alone asking this question. You feel like a driver sitting in a car and looking out through the windscreen. You are in control of the car. It starts when you turn the ignition key. The wheels follow the turning of the steering. The accelerator moves the car and the brakes halt it. The car literally obeys your commands and yet you are not the car. The moment you step out of the car. The car and you are separate.
Stand in front of the mirror and look at your reflection. You get this strange feeling that you are looking at another person in the mirror. Who is this person in the mirror you are looking at.You are aware of your thoughts. So who is the thinker off these thoughts.
When we meet friends whom we have not seen in ages. The thought comes how they have aged. But the person within you feels he is still the same only the other person has changed. Until a snap shot is done and you realize that you too have aged and changed.
Isn't it strange that that the feeling within me of "Who am I' Is different from my body. Then what is the body and who is this within the body. Am I my body. Definitely not because my body has changed but person to whom "I" am relating has not changed.I felt the same when I was a kid, a teenager, a young adult and an aged individual. So the spirit that within the body is not the body. So back to the question again of "Who Am I"
Am I the person of the given name. When I change my name. My true self does dot change. I am a husband. A father. etc only in relative view point. In real view point after stripping all attachments. What remains is the True Self. The True Self that is within a constantly changing body.
Genesis Chapter 2: 7....And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
My Eternal Soul is my True Self. As long as I identify my self with a relative view point. I undergo all the process of changing Happiness and Unhappiness of the world. The moment I understand my true nature of eternal soul. I enter into the realm of true Happiness. It is just like watching the never ending Sunrise. And you have stepped into the Kingdom of GOD. All worries of the world just fades away.
Matthew chapt 6: 33. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
